Advice and Guidance at Phoenix Enterprise Centre

Phoenix Enterprise Centre delivers a free, confidential and independent Advice and Guidance service offering Digital Access, Advice, Food and Support available to all Copeland residents.

The support is available to all residents currently unemployed, at risk of redundancy, or claiming working-age benefits. The services provided aim to assist clients in securing a better financial situation for themselves and their families. Our grant-funded DAAFS project seeks to give Copeland residents without an internet connection or digital abilities the opportunity to access computers and internet for FREE for online job search, check for benefit support and update their online information.

We have established three IT Outreach Centres, based in Cleator Moor, Whitehaven and Millom. Every week our team are present at scheduled hours at each centre and works with partner organisations to provide the support needed.

Active Job Search Zone and Outreach Centres

Our services operate from three IT computer suites which are available for use by clients. These are situated at:

Harbour Youth Project, Whitehaven Town Centre
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday – 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Millom Community Hub, Millom
Tuesday – 10:30 am – 3:00 pm

Phoenix Enterprise Centre, Cleator Moor
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

The Services we provide

We offer free and confidential help with;-

Search and apply for jobs/training
Set up an email account
Register, set up and maintain their Universal Credit accounts
Create, store and distribute their CV
Comply with DWP Claimant Commitment requirements to avoid sanctions
Phones are available for those who need to call DWP/Employers etc

The Advice & Guidance team also offer Food delivery to clients who are struggling to afford shopping for themselves and their families. Anyone claiming benefits, waiting for benefit payments, having been made redundant, trying to cope with debt or working on a low income could be eligible for a FREE food delivery.
