Joanne Crowe, Operations Manager at PEC said “I’m delighted to announce that we have been successful in securing funding from Copeland Community Fund (£310,051) and Copeland Borough Council (£40,000) to deliver a new 2 year project called Copeland Connect.
Copeland Connect will support 1200 local unemployed and benefit dependent residents in “drop in” computer centres in Whitehaven, Cleator Moor, Egremont and Millom. Local residents can access computers and the internet in order to search and apply for benefits, training and jobs.”
Joanne said “For the first time CAB Caseworkers will work alongside our Advice and Guidance Workers in our I.T Centres to ensure residents can access advice on a range of issues such as debt, tenancies, benefit calculations and appeals.”
Copeland Connect is only possible through the continued support of Copeland Community Fund and Copeland Borough Council.
